Welcome to the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio! We are located 2 miles South of the intersection of US Highway 36 and Ohio State Route 93 and 7 miles West of the intersection of Interstate Route 77 and Us Highway 36.

West Lafayette was platted in 1850 by Robert Shaw and William Wheeler.  It then consisted of 13 lots, eight north of Main Street and five south of Main Street.  Today the village covers one squre mile and contains some 10 miles of streets.  The population has grown from 250 in 1881 to over 2400 today.

The Village Council meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 7 pm in the Council chambers located beside the Administration Offices at 115 East Railroad Street.  The village is a statutory village under the Ohio Revised Code.
